Association for Covenant Clergy Women

The Association for Covenant Clergy Women (ACCW) was formed in November of 1998, as an organized body of clergy women and men, who affirm and support collaborative efforts within the ECC to provide clergy women with opportunities to serve in their call. The ACCW is committed to finding and implementing strategies that broaden these opportunities for women to use the gifts God has given them “to equip the saints for the work of the ministry” in the ECC.

2008 ACCW Awards Reception At ECC Annual Meeting

Join us as we celebrate with the recipients of the 2008 ACCW Awards on Wednesday, June 25th from 5:00 - 6:30 pm in the Towers Dining Room. Attendees will need to go through the buffet line in the main dining hall in the Kraft Centre and bring their dinner meal to the Towers Dining Hall. All meals for the annual meeting are included in a meal plan so if you are not staying on the grounds, please make sure you purchase a meal plan to join us. Our agenda will include presenting the 2008 ACCW Victoria Welter Book Scholarship, the 2008 ACCW Phoebe Church Planter's Grant and the 2008 ACCW Evelyn M.R. Johnson Leadership Award. We will also spend time celebrating new calls, change of call, graduates and ordinands.

Silent Auction During ECC Annual Meeting

In celebration of the ACCW 10th anniversary as an association, we are auctioning clergy stoles for men and women. Stop by the ACCW table in the display area to place your bid. The winning bids will be announced and awarded their stoles during our reception on Wednesday, June 25th.

10th Anniversary Celebration 

"In Her Own Words" was a memorable gathering as our first and second presidents shared the Covenant's history of ordaining women to men and women who filled the Midway Room of the Hyatt Regency Hotel. As the attendees enjoyed hot refreshments they joined in all of the festivities of the first celebration of the 10th anniversary celebration of ACCW scheduled for 2008. Read more here.

ACCW Business Meeting During Mid-winter

The ACCW business meeting will be held on Monday, January 28, 2008 from 1:30 - 3:30 pm in the Florence Room of the Hyatt Regency O'Hare. The agenda items include the election of three new board members (vice secretary, vice treasurer, and one member at large), information on nominating someone for the 2008 ACCW Awards Program, approving a budget and collecting annual dues.

Additional details will be shared on the 10 Year Celebration of the ACCW and our "New Day for the ACCW" will be introduced. We'll start with a time of worship, prayer and fellowship. There will also be time available for celebration of new calls and graduates.  

Your Story Stone

Future generations of women, who are in the process of discerning call, will search to find the stories of women who are actively serving in diverse ministries. The ACCW is currently collecting 'Story Stones', of credentialed women, to meet this need. Your story may be the one to help a young woman or a woman in the process of discerning call to say "Yes" to God. Read more here.

2007 ACCW Awards Reception

ACCW Announces 2008 Awards

Nominations are currently being accepted for the second recipients of the bi-annual ACCW Awards Program. In 2008 the second ACCW Victoria Welter Book Scholarship, the ACCW Phoebe Church Planter's Grant and the ACCW Evelyn M.R. Johnson Leadership Award will be awarded. ACCW Liasions

To encourage fellowship, care and support of ACCW members on a conference level, the ACCW board created a new opportunity for connecting. An ACCW Liasion is a member who facilitates the gathering of ACCW members when the conference gathers. Read more here.

Clergy Women At Triennial XII

Clergy women gathered for lunch during Triennial XII in Chicago, Illinois. Women Ministries has afforded clergy women this wonderful experiences during the last two Triennials. Clergy women have gathered for fellowship, encouragement, and celebration of new calls. Clergy women were prayed for during worship and served communion during the conference.

Women History Commission - The Unfolding Mystery of "Yes"

The Women's History Commission of the Evangelical Covenant Church released their latest book, "The Unfolding Mystery of "Yes"; Women Who Were Forces for Change" during Triennial XII. Five of the sixteen women featured in the book were in attendance at the international women's conference and were honored by the commission. Read more here.
