What is intentional discipleship?

If churches are to help their people grow spiritually, they need to be clear about setting simple guidelines and then provide the resources and support for them to achieve that. This process does not happen automatically simply by attending church or desiring to grow, it takes concerted effort. The Evangelical Covenant Church (ECC) has a long tradition of encouraging people to bring their faith into daily life. From the beginning, questions like “Where is it written?” and “How goes your walk?” have guided our life together. Currently the ECC teaches that as disciples of Jesus, we’re on a continuing journey of being transformed by the Holy Spirit into Christ’s likeness, experiencing and expressing love for God and others.
