Events & Activities...The Annual Meeting offers more than just business sessions. There is also a wide range of events and recreational activities for delegates and conferees to enjoy.

Recreation...

fishingGreen Lake Conference Center is located on 1,000 acres of peaceful lakeside landscape. This historic Christian retreat center has been host to Martin Luther King Jr. and Billy Graham.

The Conference Center offers boat rentals (powered and non-powered), swimming, biking, hiking, tennis, golf, a fitness center, team sports, and arts and crafts. Children & Youth...

Covenant Kids Ministries are committed to providing a nurturing ministry experience for children whose parents are attending the Annual Meeting business sessions. The registration fee for all children, 6 mos. through grade 6, is $95 per child. After June 1, Covenant Kids will be handled on a space-available basis. There is no registration fee for students in grades 7-12 who register as volunteers. All children must be pre-registered, including children who are coming for only one night. Children’s ministries do not extend over the lunch or dinner breaks, as this is an opportunity for families to spend time together.

Shepherds Fold (0-2 years). The Shepherds Fold Ministry staff is committed to the care of the youngest of God’s children. You can be assured your child will receive safe, loving care in an environment especially designed for young children.

Preschool Kingdom (3 years - kindergarten). Children from age three through those entering kindergarten will ride the high seas of adventure with The Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything, including Bible stories, lively worship, sweet treats, and science experiments.

Adventure Camp (grades 1-6). Ahoy, Captain! We’re setting sail with The Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything for some rock-solid Bible learning, breathtaking Bible stories, sweet treats, lively worship, action-packed games and amazing science experiments. We’ll be taking a short day trip for a treasure hunt and ending our time with a movie night.

Youth (Grades 7-12). Students entering grades seven through twelve are invited to volunteer as counselors in any of the children’s ministries.

Covenant Ministerium Annual Meeting...

The Covenant Ministerium will meet June 24 from 11 am-5 pm, following worship at the Feast’s closing session at 8 am. The group will engage in a continuing education opportunity featuring Dr. Stephen Chester, associate professor of New Testament at North Park Theological Seminary, who will be speaking on “Paul and the Ethics of Identity”. This will be a recognized continuing education experience that meets a portion of the annual requirement. Following a break, business will be conducted from 2-5 pm, including the consideration of applicants for ordination and other ministerial credentials, as well as voting on the proposed changes to the Rules for the Ordered Ministry.

Delegate Orientation and Reception...

Delegates are invited to an orientation on Tuesday, June 24, at 3 pm. Enjoy refreshments and meet other delegates and Covenant leaders in a relaxed setting. The significance and parliamentarian process of the Covenant Annual Meeting will be explained and a humorous case study will be reviewed by this year’s officers.

African American Ministers Association (AAMA)...

AAMA members and their guests are invited to a reception on Tuesday, June 24, 2008, 5-6:30 pm. The reception will highlight the 2008 Reality Strategy and celebrate those graduating from seminary, being ordained, and pursuing a call to ministry. Refreshments will be served. Ninth Annual Covenant Retired Clergy and Missionary Banquet

All retired Covenant ministers and missionaries, their spouses and surviving spouses are invited to the ninth annual Covenant Retired Clergy and Missionary Banquet on Tuesday, June 24, 4:30 - 6:15 pm. Fellowship, fun, and longtime friends are promised, as well as a short update from Dean A. Lundgren, ECC treasurer and director of pensions, on the Covenant Pension Plan. After dinner you are invited to attend the evening worship service honoring retiring President Glenn Palmberg.

Association for Covenant Clergy Women (ACCW)

Everyone is invited to join ACCW members on Wednesday, June 25, 5-6:30 pm for their 2008 Award Reception. Three recipients will be honored as they are presented with the Victoria Welter Scholarship, the Phoebe Church Planters Scholarship, and the Evelyn M. R. Johnson Leadership Award. Bethany Benefit Service and Galter LifeCenter Health Testing

Health screenings are available for all Covenant pastors and missionaries and their families through Galter LifeCenter and Bethany Benefit Service. The screenings include blood tests, blood pressure, and body composition. The cost of the screening is $25, payable upon testing. A PSA screening is available for an additional $25. Pre-registration is required. Receptions

Please join us Tuesday evening, June 24, for a reception honoring retiring President Glenn Palmberg. The reception will include refreshments and is open to anyone attending the Annual Meeting. The following evening, Wednesday, June 25, will bring opportunity to welcome our new President and his family.
