Business Information
Location
The business sessions will be held in the Renaissance Ballroom at the Renaissance Center. Reserved seating is provided for delegates and registered general conferees in designated areas.
Materials
Please check CovChurch.org/am periodically for updates on business items and resources. Every delegate will receive a hardcopy notebook with business materials during on-site registration. If you prefer to save paper and would like to reference the business resources on site from your mobile device (laptop or tablet), please let us know during online registration. (Materials must be downloaded in advance; outlets and internet will not be available in the business sessions.)

Designations
DELEGATE
Delegates are representatives from member Covenant churches and other entities with delegates as provided in the ECC Constitution and Bylaws. Each delegate must be confirmed through a credentialing process noted below. Delegates receive a comprehensive notebook with ministry reports, financial report, statistics, ballot information, etc. and all printed materials distributed during the meeting. Delegates vote in elections and/or call of leaders and approval for credentialing of clergy and missionaries, annual budget, and other main motions (i.e. resolutions and Constitution/Bylaw changes) They are provided premium seating during the business sessions, and are given the privilege of voice to address matters brought before the assembly.
- Credentialing
The credentialing process legally certifies an individual to represent his or her church as a voting delegate at the Annual Meeting. A credential letter, sent separately to your church, must be filled out with the name(s) of the delegate(s) and mailed by May 24, 2013, to the Annual Meeting registrar, 8303 West Higgins Road, Chicago, Illinois, 60631. - Volunteers
- Sergeants-at-arms: Group of delegate volunteers who distribute materials and monitor proper use of microphones. Please indicate your interest in serving in this position during the registration process.
- Tellers: Group of delegate volunteers who serve the body by distributing, collecting, and counting ballots. Please indicate your interest in serving in this position during the registration process.
GENERAL CONFEREE
General conferees are Covenanters wishing to attend the Annual Meeting without officially representing a local church or Covenant entity. General conferees do not have the privilege of voice or vote in the business sessions, but are provided with handouts distributed at the business sessions and receive designated seating. They may fully participate in Roundtable Discussions and other events outside the business sessions.
RESOURCE PERSON
A resource person is invited to participate in the Annual Meeting for a specified purpose or agenda item(s) by the action of the body. Resource persons may be called on to address the body, answer questions, or make suggestions and comments in relation to the specified purpose or agenda item(s). They do not have a vote, cannot make motions, and may be excused by the body at any time.
