Turning 65

Your benefits package changes slightly when you reach the age of 65 and are still employed by a Covenant organization.

Life insurance

Your life insurance benefit decreases from $75,000 to $48,750.  Due to this change, your life insurance premium decreases from $69.00/quarter to $44.85/quarter.  See the life insurance page for more details.

Health insurance

Unless you are working in a Covenant organization which employs more than 20 full time employees, your health insurance policy will change to a supplementary plan to Medicare.  Your health insurance premium will be drastically reduced, saving money for your employer, and you will continue to receive the same level of benefits.  Your life, long-term disability, dental and vision insurances will not be altered and you are automatically enrolled in Medicare D as part of your Bethany Benefit Service plan.

If you are 65 or turning 65 and work for a Covenant organization with less than 20 full time employees, please enroll in Medicare A and B and send a copy of your Medicare card to Bethany Benefit Service as soon as you receive it.
