May 13, 2008 - A Night of Training for South Side Youth Ministries...North Park University's Center for Youth Ministry Studies and Oakdale Covenant Church are sponsoring a special night of training for youth workers, lay leaders, parents, grandparents, and teachers involved with youth ministries on Chicago's south side on Thursday, June 12 from 6:30-9:00 PM. Admission is only $10 per person, and it will be held at Oakdale Covenant Church at 9440 S. Vincennes Ave. in Chicago. Seminars include: "Rebuilding a Fatherless Generation," "Urban Youth Ministry Discipleship," and "Mooks, Midriffs and Myspace: Engaging a Plugged-in Generation." Edgebrook Covenant's knitting and crocheting ministry, the Crafty Angels, is featured in an article on building small groups. The Crafty Angels, now 125 women strong across the country, completed over 4,000 items for a variety of groups helping the needy around the world in 2008. April 7, 2008 - Spring Breakout is Coming... the Central Conference junior-high weekend, focusing on service projects and learning, will be held June 6-8, 2008 at North Park University, and registrations are due by May 4, 2008. Information now available online.
