Vikings Record Fourth Straight Victory

CHICAGO, IL (January 5, 2001) - After nearly a month layoff, the North Park University (NPU) women's basketball team continued its winning ways, beating Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) 54-51 in non-league play Thursday night.

The Vikings won their fourth straight game and moved to 5-4 overall as they prepare for College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) play. Carrie Swenson had 18 points on 8-of-10 field goal shooting for NPU, which survived a 25-point performance by MSOE's Shari Gorr.

Julia Kyte, who earned CCIW Player of the Week honors in early December, added 13 points for the Vikings. NPU also got 10 points from Andrea Mendyk and six assists from Amy Stoltz.

NPU opens CCIW play at Illinois Wesleyan January 6.
