President's Circle Membership Reflects Growth
CHICAGO (February 3, 2001) - Membership in the President's Circle of the Evangelical Covenant Church increased by 32 members during 2000, according to Marlene Carlson, director of strategic giving. Members of the President's Circle provide annual unrestricted gifts to the church of $1,000 or more. "The President's Circle has been in existence for six years now and has made a significant difference in meeting the budgetary goals of the denomination," said ECC President Glenn Palmberg who, along with his wife, Sharon, are among the founding members and have been actively involved in promoting its membership. During the year, a membership benefit was added. Each active member now has the option of receiving a free subscription to The Covenant Companion as well as the President's Newsletter. Events are held in each regional conference during the year, giving members an opportunity to exchange ideas and concerns directly with the president or his representative. "This year, the President's Circle will host events beginning in March in the East Coast Conference, then on to California and Minnesota in April, and Michigan in May," Carlson said. "We are looking forward to meeting several hundred people at about 20 events. This is an excellent way to participate in shaping the work of the church and to hear how God is working in and through his people." People interested in joining the President's Circle or obtaining the 2001 schedule of events may contact the Office of Strategic Giving by telephone at 773-784-3000.
