Vikings Upset Wheaton in Conference Play
CHICAGO, IL (February 15, 2001) - Keith Peterson scored 26 points and Rob Berki added 22 points and 10 rebounds as North Park University (NPU) defeated Wheaton College 71-62 in a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) game Wednesday.
Peterson made five 3-point baskets and Berki had four as the Vikings hit 12-of-26 from long range. NPU (11-11, 2-9 in the CCIW) led by as many as 18 points before Wheaton made a late run. However, after the Thunder (11-11, 3-8) cut the NPU lead to 65-60 with 1:07 left, the Vikings made six free throws to ice the contest.
NPU, which broke a five-game losing streak, hosts Augustana in a 7:30 p.m. game Saturday.
