Moses Hill Covenant to Celebrate 125th Anniversary

LOOMIS, NE (January 29, 2002) - Glenn R. Palmberg, president of the Evangelical Covenant Church, will be the guest speaker at the Moses Hill Covenant Church as the congregation celebrates its 125th anniversary February 10.

Palmberg will preach at the 10:30 a.m. morning service and at a 2 p.m. program commemorating the church's beginnings. Midwest Conference Supt. Kenneth P. Carlson will also be attending the 2 p.m. event. An open house will follow.

Moses Hill Covenant is located in south central Nebraska, about three hours from Omaha. It is one of six churches in the denomination celebrating 125th anniversary events this year. Known in its early years as Phelps Center, it was the site of the 1891 Annual Meeting of the denomination, according to Karl Olsson's By One Spirit. Delegates attending that meeting voted to establish a theological seminary, now known as North Park Theological Seminary in Chicago.
