North Park Presents One-Woman Play Featuring Nora Armani
CHICAGO, IL (February 11, 2002) - North Park University (NPU) will present On the Couch, a one-woman play by award-winning actress Norma Armani, at 7 p.m. on Saturday, February 16, in Anderson Chapel on the campus.
Nora Armani is an award-winning actress who has toured internationally with three stage productions she has co-created. She has appeared in many international theatrical, cinema and television productions in the United States, England, France and Armenia and is the recipient of the California Motion Picture Council's Golden Star Halo Award for her performance in Sojourn.
On the Couch unfolds when an unresolved love affair, abruptly interrupted 15 years earlier, is suddenly rekindled when the actress unexpectedly spots her old love in the audience. Through music, song and dance, Armani reminisces upon her Armenian childhood in Egypt and
the mass emigration of all minorities.
Tickets are $25 general admission and $5 for students. Anderson Chapel is located at 3225 West Foster Avenue in Chicago. The performance is sponsored by North Park's Institute for International and Cultural Studies.
