Minnehaha Girls Edged Out of Section Finals
MONTICELLO, MN (March 10, 2002) - Despite 18 points by Lee Durant, the Minnehaha Academy girls high school basketball team lost 47-42 to Breck High School at the Section 5 Class 2A finals at Monticello High Friday night.
Annika Boyd added seven points and Megan Foy had six more for Minnehaha (21-9), which was playing for a second consecutive berth in the state Class 2A championships.
In boys basketball playoff action, Minnehaha ended its season at 17-11 after losing 77-69 against St. Agnes in a Class 2A subsection contest played Saturday. Greg Rowland scored 20 points for Minnehaha, which is sponsored by the Northwest Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Church.
