Winnetka Covenanter to Head Major Chicago Department
CHICAGO, IL (March 19, 2002) - N. Marcia Jimenez, a longtime member of Winnetka Covenant Church in Wilmette, has been named commissioner of the Department of Environment for the City of Chicago.
Jimenez has been acting commissioner of the Department of Environment since January, replacing William F. Abolt. She previously served as first deputy commissioner.
A previous secretary at Winnetka Covenant, Jimenez had served as lakefront planning coordinator for the Chicago Park District and director of summer programs for the mayor's Office of Employment and Training.
