Several Events Remain During April at North Park
CHICAGO, IL (April 11, 2002) - A number of April events are scheduled at North
Park University (NPU).
- April 12-13: NPU's theater department will present "Dancing at
Lughnasa," a story of an Irishman in the 1930s. The performance will be
held in the Lecture Hall Auditorium with shows also scheduled for April
19-20. Tickets are $8 for general admission; $6 for faculty, staff,
seniors and NPU alumni,; and $4 for NPU students.
- April 14-15: NPU's Center for Latino Studies will host showings of two
films, Los Trabajadores/The Workers and El Chogul as part of
the 18th annual Chicago Latino Film Festival. The 7 p.m. event will cost
$10 for general admission and $5 for North Park students.
- April 20: There will be a performance by a six-member contingent of The
North Park Chamber Players in a 3 p.m. concert at Anderson Chapel. Tickets
are $15 for general admission, $10 for seniors, disabled and non-North Park
students with NPU students admitted free.
- April 21: A student chamber concert, featuring string, bass, and
woodwind ensembles, will perform in a 3 p.m. event at Anderson Chapel.
Tickets are $7 for general admission; $5 for faculty, staff, seniors, the
disabled and non-North Park students; and $2 for NPU students.
- April 23: NPU's choir, women's chorus and chamber singers will combine
their talents in a 7:30 p.m. choral concert in Anderson Chapel. Tickets are
$7 for general admission; $5 for faculty, staff, seniors, the disabled and
non-North Park students; and $2 for NPU students.
- April 26: Tom Zelle will direct the NPU Orchestra in a 7:30 p.m.
performance at Anderson Chapel. Tickets are $7 for general admission; $5
for faculty, staff, seniors, the disabled and non-North Park students; and
$2 for NPU students.
- April 27: NPU School of Music faculty member Pam Pagels will present a
7:30 p.m. double-bass recital at Anderson Chapel. Tickets are $7 for
general admission; $5 for faculty, staff, seniors, the disabled and
non-North Park students; and $2 for NPU students.
- April 29: Internationally recognized Palestinian spokesperson Dr. Hanan
Ashrawi and former Israeli parliamentarian Shulamit Aloni will address the
topic "Negotiating A Just Peace in Israel and Palestine: The Tough Issues."
The 7:30 p.m. lecture, sponsored by North Park's Center for Middle Easter
Studies, is free and open to the public.
All NPU events at Anderson Hall and the Lecture Hall Auditorium are
