Pine Lake (WA) Church Tripling Size of Worship Complex
SAMMAMISH, WA (June 3, 2002) - Pine Lake Covenant Church of Sammamish celebrated
a dedication service May 19 for a 15,000-square-foot facility currently
under construction.
The two-story addition to the church, called the Family Life Center, has
been under construction for three weeks, said pastor Christian Breuninger.
It is hoped the facility will be finished in November or December. The
estimated cost for the project is $3.7 million of which the church already
has $1.1 million in contributions and pledges.
Breuninger said the Family Life Center includes a 6,000-square-foot
multipurpose room with a stage and lighting, capable of seating about 400
people. A youth center and a number of classrooms will be housed in the
downstairs portion. Ed Buffalow, a member of the church, is the chief
architect for the project.
Pine Lake Covenant Church has an average worship attendance of about 700,
more than double the attendance four years ago. The church is located in
the suburbs approximately 10 miles east of Seattle in a town of 35,000
people. The congregation recently celebrated its 20th anniversary.
"We're utilizing every nook and cranny, but we're way beyond saturation,
said Breuninger in describing the need for the new addition.
