Covenant Home Adds Skilled Nursing Partners
CHICAGO, IL (June 4, 2002) - Covenant Home of Chicago, located on West Foster
Avenue, has partnered with Chicago-area providers to offer skilled nursing
care to Covenant Home residents.
Covenant Home is a 50-unit assisted living residence located near Swedish
Covenant Hospital. Since the 1970s Covenant Home has provided skilled
nursing care on the fifth floor of Swedish Covenant Hospital's Anderson
Pavilion. To enable the hospital to use the fifth-floor location to expand
its services, Covenant Home pursued alternative service options, evaluating
local community needs to determine how best to serve the area as a licensed
assisted living community.
To make certain that future skilled nursing care will be available to its
residents, Covenant Home established partnerships with local skilled
nursing providers. One partner, The Methodist Home, is located just west of
Covenant Home on Foster Avenue. It is a division of United Methodist Homes
& Services.
Covenant Retirement Communities, the parent company of Covenant Home, also
will provide services through its network of retirement communities,
including three continuing care retirement communities in the Chicago area.
Both Methodist Home and Covenant Retirement Communities will provide
rehabilitative care, intermediate nursing care, skilled nursing care and
specialized Alzheimer's care.
Covenant Home of Chicago is administered by Covenant Retirement
Communities, Inc., on behalf of the Board of Benevolence of the
Evangelical Covenant Church. For more information, contact Covenant Home
of Chicago at 773-506-6900.
