Lewis Lake (MN) Church to Celebrate 100 Years of Ministry
OGILVIE, MN (June 5, 2002) - Lewis Lake Covenant Church will celebrate its
centennial July 13-14 with a series of events in Ogilvie.
Jim Sundholm, director of Covenant World Relief, will be the guest speaker
for the July 14 worship service. The 100th anniversary weekend event begins
with a noon picnic and an open house July 13. The church will have a dinner
and program later that evening.
On July 14, the church will have a special Sunday school presentation
before its worship service.
Lewis Lake Covenant is located in east central Minnesota, 50 miles north of
the Twin Cities, in an unincorporated area eight miles south of Ogilvie, a
town of about 500 people. The church averages 150 in worship attendance and
members are actively involved in Christian education and Sunday school
programs, according to church secretary Betty Saltzer. Robert DeYoung has
been the church's pastor for nearly two decades.
