Westerville (OH) Church to Mark 25 Years
WESTERVILLE, OH (July 17, 2002) - Don Olson, a former pastor at Faith Covenant
Church, will preach August 18 as part of the congregation's 25th
anniversary celebration.
Olson, who was pastor at the church for 13 of the church's 25 years, will
preach at the 10 a.m. worship service. A picnic will follow.
The church honored previous confirmands during its confirmation service in
May. In September the church will take a congregational photograph to
commemorate this 25th year of ministry.
Faith Covenant Church was founded in 1977 by Robert Honnette and met in a
bank, a farmhouse and a YMCA facility before moving into a permanent
building in 1985. The date stone from the first building, located five
miles from the church's current site, will
be re-dedicated in the coming weeks. The church is also planning a banquet
later this fall, said Tim Heintzelman, who has been pastor at the church
since 1998.
Faith Covenant Church averages 160 in worship attendance in a building that
the church bought two years ago in Westerville, a northern suburb of
Columbus. A recent Vacation Bible School attracted more than 100 children.
