New Life Radio Granted Satellite Broadcast License
MOSCOW, RUSSIA (July 30, 2002) - New Life Radio-Moscow has been granted a
five-year license by the Ministry of Press to conduct satellite
broadcasting in Russia, Covenant News Service has learned.
"This license solidifies our ability to provide direct to home satellite
broadcasts within the country," said station director Dan Johnson. "That is
something to praise God for," said Robert C. Larson, chair of the Christian
Radio For Russia (CRFR) board.
Larson also confirmed that CRFR also has been recognized by the Internal
Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) organization, which allows contributions to
be claimed as charitable deductions on income tax returns. "Now that we
have the license and 501(c)(3) status, the door should be open to those who
were reluctant to give," Larson said in a message to board members.
Christian Radio For Russia was formed to provide accountability and support
for Johnson and New Life Radio. The board of directors of CRFR includes
Raymond L. Dahlberg, retired executive director of the Department of World
Mission of the Evangelical Covenant Church (ECC), and Larson, retired
executive secretary of the ECC's Department of Church Growth and
Evangelism.
For more information about CRFR and its ministries, call Larson at
