Funeral Service August 16 for Lester Munson
CHICAGO, IL (August 10, 2002) - A funeral service will be held Friday, August 16,
for Lester Munson, an attorney in the western suburbs of Chicago and a
well-known layperson in the Evangelical Covenant Church (ECC).
The service will be at 2 p.m. at The Holmstad, 700 W. Fabyan Parkway,
Batavia, Illinois.
Munson served as the ECC Annual Meeting moderator in 1962 and 1963 and was
parliamentarian in 1977 and an Annual Meeting legal consultant in 1978.
He served on the Covenant Board of Benevolence from 1964-69 and again from
1977-83. He served on the Board of Trustees of North Park University from
1970-75 and the Swedish Covenant Hospital Board of Directors from 1968-87,
serving three terms as board chair - 1979-81, 1982-83 and 1983-85.
