Florida Retirement Community Seeking Job Applicants

CHICAGO, IL (August 12, 2002) - Covenant Retirement Communities (CRC) is seeking applicants for two positions at its Covenant Village of Florida community. Covenant Retirement Communities is part of Covenant Ministries of Benevolence of the Evangelical Covenant Church.

Dining Service Director

This position provides leadership and direction to the dining service department of Covenant Village of Florida (Plantation). The dining service department provides food service for residential living, assisted living and skilled nursing areas.

This position supervises and manages all food service functions and personnel, budget forecasting, food production, dining room service and nutritional care, ensuring that all requirements are met in accordance with federal, state and local standards and comply with Covenant Retirement Communities policies and procedures.

The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree in food service management or its equivalent and will be a registered dietician. Additional training and/or experience in business, accounting, personnel management and dietetics is desired. The candidate should have a minimum of three years of supervisory experience in a dining service, team-oriented environment.

This individual must possess excellent leadership, organizational, professional and interpersonal skills; multitasking capabilities and excellent communication skills. Familiarity and compatibility with the mission of the Evangelical Covenant Church is essential and an understanding of Covenant Affirmations is important.

Environmental Services Director

This position is responsible for planning, scheduling and implementing the maintenance, housekeeping, laundry, grounds, emergency medical/security, transportation and communication services on the campus in order to assure a safe and efficient environmental services program. This position oversees all special building projects and apartment remodels.

The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree in a related field (preferred) - significant managerial and leadership experience may be accepted in lieu of college course work. The successful candidate will have a general knowledge of building cleaning and maintenance procedures, construction (including the ability to read and interpret blueprints), and computer skills to maintain and operate facility management software. The individual must have four years of experience working in a similar position and a minimum five years supervisory experience.

Qualifications include excellent leadership, organizational, professional and interpersonal skills; familiarity with annual operating and capital equipment budgets; multitasking and excellent communication skills. Familiarity and compatibility with the mission of The Evangelical Covenant Church is essential and an understanding of Covenant Affirmations is important.
