Service Held for Lay Pastor Ray Bishop
AXTELL, KS (August 27, 2002) - A memorial service was held last Friday for
longtime Covenant lay pastor Ray Bishop, who died August 16 after serving
the Evangelical Mission Covenant Church in Axtell for many years.
Ken Carlson, superintendent of the Midwest Conference of the Evangelical
Covenant Church, officiated. He noted that Bishop had been a pastor at
another area church before serving in Axtell.
Bishop, a carpenter by trade, is survived by four children. His wife,
Thelma, preceded him in death.
