Minnehaha Capital Campaign Reaches Goal
MINNEAPOLIS, MN (September 9, 2002) - The Minnehaha Academy capital campaign
Promise for the Future has surpassed its goal of $9 million, reaching its
financial objective in less than three years.
Promise for the Future, the most ambitious fundraising effort in the
academy's 90-year history, will officially culminate in May 2003 with the
dedication of the school's new 600-seat chapel and fine arts center at
Minnehaha's Upper School campus in Minneapolis.
As construction continues on the chapel and fine arts center, full use of
Minnehaha's new multi-purpose athletic center began this fall. The
38,000-square-foot two-level building opened in April. An atrium will link
both facilities to the original school building constructed in 1913.
Classroom and laboratory facilities have also been upgraded.
Minnehaha Academy is a private, college-preparatory school sponsored by the
Northwest Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Church. It currently
enrolls 1,250 students in grades preschool through 12 on three campuses in
Minneapolis and Bloomington.
For more information on the school and its campaign drive, call Amy Bragg
Carey, Minnehaha's director of development, at 612-728-7722.
