Covenanter Member of Carolina Champion Team

LYNCHBURG, VA (September 16, 2002) - Nathan McLouth of the Evangelical Covenant Church of Whitehall, Michigan, was a member of the Lynchburg Hillcats, a minor league professional baseball team that won the Carolina League championship.

McLouth, an outfielder for the Pittsburgh Pirates Class A organization, hit .244 while stealing 20 bases, third on the team. He was second on the team in triples with four as the Hillcats went 87-53 in the regular season before winning the playoffs.
