Zion Memorial Service Tuesday for Cathy Ann Meyer
JAMESTOWN, NY (October 5, 2002) - A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m.
Tuesday (October 8) at Zion Covenant Church for Cathy Ann Meyer who died
September 28 in Chicago following a lengthy battle with breast cancer.
Cathy, 53, served as the assistant human resources director for North Park
University in Chicago. Before moving to Chicago in 1997, she served as
served as administrative assistant to the vice president of Jamestown
Community College. She is the wife of Don Meyer, executive minister of the
Department of Communication for the Evangelical Covenant Church and former
publisher of The Post-Journal during the 21 years the couple lived
here.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Christine Ann
Southerland of Buffalo, New York, who with her husband, Jesse, have two
daughters, Shelby Ann and Jessica Lynn; a son, Jonathan of Port Allegany,
Pennsylvania, who with his wife, Michelle, have a son, Landon Olson Meyer;
a sister, Gail Myers of Eagle Grove; a brother, Tom Olson of Cedar Rapids,
Iowa; and several nieces and nephews. Jonathan is pastor of the Evangelical
Covenant Church of Port Allegany.
The family suggests memorials be directed to Zion Covenant Church.
