Rabbi To Speak At North Park Lecture

CHICAGO, IL (October 10, 2002) - Rabbi Peter Knobel of Beth Emet The Free Synagogue in Evanston will explore the question "Who is God After Auschwitz?" in a free lecture October 24 in North Park University's Anderson Chapel.

The 7:30 p.m. event is sponsored by the Institute for Christianity, Faith, and Culture at North Park University, one of many events held on campus this year that focus on the University's theme for 2002-2003, "Who Is God?"

Knobel has been a rabbi for more than three decades, the past 22 at Beth Emet. He received his graduate degree from Hebrew Union College and his Ph.D. from Yale University. He has served on the boards of many local and national institutions, including a term as president of the Chicago Board of Rabbis, and has taught at Yale and a handful of other higher institutions of learning.
