Golf Open Raises $2,670 for Covenant Point
GAASTRA, MI (October 9, 2002) - Dean, Mark and Ed Lindahl combined to shoot a 62
at the par 72 George Young Golf Course to win the recent Dusty Larson
Memorial Golf Open.
The 18th annual event at the George Young Recreational Complex drew 40
competitors and raised a record $2,670 for Covenant Point Bible Camp in
Iron River and Town and Country Ministries for the Evangelical Covenant
Church. The check was given by one of the event organizers, Ed Lindwall, to
Virginia Larson, Dusty's widow (see accompanying photo).
The Dusty Larson Memorial Fund assists North Park Theological Seminary
pastors who graduate and accept a call to a town and country church. The
award dates back to 1997.
