Services Held for Pearl Gustafson
CENTERVILLE, IA (October 17, 2002) - Funeral services were held today at the
Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville for Pearl (Hanson) Gustafson,
widow of former Covenant pastor Lloyd Gustafson.
Gustafson died last Friday in the Golden Age Care Center at the age of 83.
She was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church of Centerville, where
her husband had served his final full-time pastorate in the late 1970s and
had served as a hospital chaplain in town during retirement years. Her
husband preceded her in death on May 6, 2001.
Gustafson is survived by a daughter, Joanne O'Connor, and sons Joel, Justin
and Jerry. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to
the Friends of World Mission fund for the Evangelical Covenant Church, 5101
N. Francisco Avenue, Chicago, IL, 60625.
