Candidates Sought for Three Positions
CHICAGO, IL (October 19, 2002) - Candidates are being sought for three positions
in Evangelical Covenant Church offices and institutions.
Emanuel Medical Center
A search is under way for a new president and chief executive officer (CEO)
of Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock, California, a not-for-profit
corporation that is part of Covenant Ministries of Benevolence.
The center encompasses a comprehensive, acute care facility that is
licensed for 150 beds and includes a freestanding, outpatient facility, a
49-bed residential facility and 145-bed skilled nursing facility.
This position requires an experienced healthcare executive with a strong
Christian faith (Covenant preferred) and an outstanding track record of
leadership, relationship management and management experience. The
successful candidate preferably will have CEO experience or have been the
chief operations officer of a larger, complex healthcare enterprise.
California experience will be helpful. This leader must be a visionary who
is able to build and establish trust, loyalty and respect among multiple
stakeholders, while developing and implementing the future strategic
direction of the institution.

Church Growth and Evangelism
Applications are being accepted for a position as administrative assistant
for technical services in the Department of Church Growth and Evangelism of
the Evangelical Covenant Church. It is a part-time position.
This position performs general administrative duties focusing mainly on
data entry and document scanning. Other duties include composing and typing
routine correspondence, organizing and maintaining file systems, greeting
scheduled visitors, preparing outgoing mail and correspondence, including
e-mail and faxes, ordering and maintaining supplies and arranging for
equipment maintenance and scheduling meetings with appropriate staff.
The successful candidate must have at least a high school diploma or
general education degree (GED); or one to three months of related
experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and
experience. This individual must be able to read and comprehend simple
instructions, short correspondence, and memos; must have the ability to
write simple correspondence, and must have the ability to effectively
present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers,
clients and other employees of the organization.

Windsor Park Manor
Windsor Park Manor in Carol Stream, Illinois, is seeking a full-time
registered nurse to provide nursing care to residents in the independent
living and catered living facilities according to professional standards,
facility procedures and established state and federal regulations for
nursing facilities. This position assists in the safety, comfort and well
being of residents.
The successful candidate will have a current Registered Nurse license in
the state of Illinois, a degree from an accredited school of nursing
licensed by the state of Illinois and a certificate of successful
completion of a pharmacology class (if it was not part of the nursing
curriculum). Two years experience in nursing in geriatric, restorative
and/or rehabilitative nursing is preferred as are basic computer skills.
The position assists in physical assessments on all new residents and any
resident complaining of illness, as well as maintaining the files on each
resident. This individual may also administer tuberculosis testing for
applicants and campus employees. The individual in this position must
possess good observation and nursing skills and must be able to perform
some phlebotomy, EKG's and enlist the cooperation of unit personnel and
staff in other departments.
