New Building Dedicated at Hope Covenant

CHANDLER, AZ (October 30, 2002) - About 400 people attended a special dedication worship service Sunday for a new building at Hope Covenant Church.

The 14,000-square-foot building cost $1.4 million, said pastor Duane Cross. The new sanctuary seats about 400. One major challenge surfaced about two months ago, when a local construction company working on the project went out of business, creating tense moments, Cross noted. However, subcontractors took over the work and the project finished on time.

Hope Covenant Church has an average worship attendance of 220, approximately 60 more than last fall and 140 more than two years ago. The church was founded in 1987. It received a loan from National Covenant Properties to begin the building project, which had groundbreaking ceremonies last November.
