Cromwell Dedicates Assessment, Treatment Wing

CROMWELL, CT (November 28, 2002) - Children's Home of Cromwell (CHOC) recently dedicated a new assessment and treatment wing with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by local and state officials, among others.

The 4,000-square-foot wing will be used to strengthen CHOC's Extended Day Program, said President and Chief Executive Officer David E. Jacobsen in a recent Middletown Press article. The program, which is designed to prevent the institutionalization of children ages 12 to 16, will accommodate up to 16 students who will attend classes and programs at CHOC after their regular school day until around 7 p.m. The program is also open from 9:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. on weekdays during vacation and the summer.

Established in 1900, CHOC is a private, nonprofit corporation under the auspices of the Evangelical Covenant Church and Covenant Ministries of Benevolence. It is a treatment facility for children, ages 8-18, who are unable to live with their families because of abuse or neglect.

For more information about CHOC, email info@childrenshome.org or visit the CHOC website at www.childrenshome-ct.org. To learn more about the Extended Day Program, call Jeff Edwards at 860-638-2100.
