Eagle River (AK) Opens New Building Addition
EAGLE RIVER, AK (January 23, 2003) - Community Covenant Church recently hosted a
special dedication service for a new 5,500-square-foot building addition.
The congregation began using the new space on December 22, according to
associate pastor Keith Bergstrom. A new sanctuary housed its first service
in March 2000. The new addition includes an infant/toddler nursery, five
classrooms and a junior and senior high area.
Community Covenant, under pastor Mark Meredith, has been in existence for
seven years, said Bergstrom. It has an average worship attendance of 523,
according to the most recent Covenant Yearbook statistics, making it
the largest congregation in the Evangelical Covenant Church of Alaska
(ECCAK) region. During the fall, average attendance climbed to around 700
individuals.
