Memorial Service Saturday for Bernice Johnson
KISSIMMEE, FL (January 23, 2003) - A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m.
Saturday for Bernice Johnson who died Monday in Titusville, a community
located near Orlando. Her husband, former Covenant pastor Raynold Johnson,
died several years ago.
The memorial service will be held at Community Church at Good Samaritan
Village in Kissimmee. Tim Nordstrom, a Covenant pastor serving as chaplain
at Good Samaritan, will officiate.
Born December 18, 1911, the 92-year-old Johnson partnered with her husband
as
he served churches in Illinois, Kansas, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and
Florida, as well as Children's Home of Cromwell in Connecticut. Johnson, a
member of Audubon Park Covenant Church in Orlando, had been in declining
health for several years, according to Southeast Conference Supt. Kurt A.
Miericke.
Johnson is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Catherine
Johnson, who attend Audubon Park Covenant. She is also survived by a
daughter, Pamela.
