More Than 900 Attend Pine Lake (WA) Opening


SAMMAMISH, WA (January 28, 2003) - Pine Lake Covenant Pine Lake Covenant Church celebrated the grand opening of its new Family Life Center last Sunday as more than 900 attended the day's events, according to pastor Christian Brueninger.

A total of 20,000 invitations were sent throughout the community to share the finished product of a $3.7 million project coordinated by Ed Buffalow of the church's building committee. Guests included North Pacific Conference Supt. Mark Novak and Associate Supt. Don Robinson, a previous pastor at Pine Lake Covenant.

Pine Lake Covenant Church is a congregation in Seattle's suburbs averaging nearly 600 in worship attendance. The church recently held a four-week "Love and Logic" class for the community that drew more than 100 people. Ron Taylor, the area high school's principal, teamed up with his wife Kathy, to lead the sessions.

The Family Life Center at Pine Lake Covenant measures 15,185 square feet. It features a multi-purpose room upstairs and a student center and classrooms downstairs. The building will be used to expand various programs including recreation, sports, fellowship and learning for all ages.
