Bonhoeffer Subject of February 3 Lecture


CHICAGO, IL (January 29, 2003) - Stanley Hauerwas, the Gilbert T. Rowe Professor of Theological Ethics at Duke University, will speak February 3 about Dietrich Bonhoeffer at North Park University (NPU) during two free lectures at Anderson Chapel.

Hauerwas will lecture on "Bonhoeffer's Political Theory" at noon and he will discuss "Bonhoeffer on Truth and Politics" at 7:30 p.m. Named America's best theologian by Time Magazine in 2001, Hauerwas recently wrote A Community of Character: Toward a Constructive Christian Social Ethic, which was selected as one of the 100 most important books on religion in the 20th century.
