Three North Park Players Recognized for Outstanding Performances

CHICAGO, IL (March 5, 2003) - North Park University's Sneed Deaderick, Megan Slattery and Amy Stoltz have been recognized as All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) picks for the 2002-03 men's and women's basketball season.

Deaderick, a senior from Chicago's De La Salle High School, averaged 16.2 points per game as the Vikings finished 12-13 overall. During the CCIW season, he scored 19.6 points per game, tied for second individually and was second in steals and eighth in rebounding. He was also named CCIW Player of the Week once.

Slattery, a freshman who prepped at New Trier High School in Winnetka, averaged 13.5 points per game overall for the 6-18 Vikings and was second in CCIW scoring with a 15.6 points per game mark. She also was second in rebounding (8.1 per game), third in free throw percentage, fifth in field goal percentage and tied for seventh in steals per game.

Stoltz, a senior from Maine West High School in Des Plaines, averaged 7.2 points per game overall and placed fourth in the CCIW in assists and sixth in steals. Most impressive, however, was her ability to run North Park's offense as the team's primary ball handler. Although the Vikings were well under .500, her team committed 69 fewer turnovers than their opponents.
