Candidates Sought for Production Assistant Position
CHICAGO, IL (March 10, 2003) - Applications are being accepted for a position as
production assistant
in Covenant Print Shop as part of the Department of Communication of the
Evangelical Covenant Church.
This full-time position is responsible for maintaining the project tracking
and invoicing systems, handling customer relations and operating high-speed
copy/print equipment. The position reports to the production manager. The
successful candidate will have a high school diploma or general education
degree (GED), one to three months of related experience and/or training or
the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Responsibilities include tracking and recording incoming projects in a
project log, invoicing customers on a bi-monthly basis, balancing receipts,
approving invoices for payment and performing other accounting activities
as required for printing, copying, design, Internet and contracted service
work. The position also helps resolve questions involving work orders,
distribution of work and deadlines and invoicing. This position assists in
the operation of high-speed copier/printing, cutting, binding and puncher
equipment for projects coming through the Covenant Print Shop. The position
also arranges for regular and emergency equipment maintenance and assists
in prioritizing and scheduling work assignments. Other tasks include
monitoring of supply inventory levels, answering telephones, filing and
performing other clerical tasks as needed.
The successful candidate will have good problem solving, project management
and customer service skills. The individual must demonstrate a high level
of professionalism and interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
in English, and must demonstrate the ability to prioritize and plan work
activities, use time efficiently and set goals and objectives.
