Mission Connection Position Now Available
CHICAGO, IL (March 19, 2003) - Applications are being received for a part-time
position as Covenant Mission Connection assistant to work in the Department
of World Mission. This position is responsible for scheduling appointments,
giving information to callers and assisting the short-term missionary and
Covenant Mission Connection manager with certain clerical and
administrative functions.
The successful candidate will have Associate degree or equivalent from a
two-year college or technical school. At least six months to one year of
related experience and/or training is required. The individual must have
excellent customer service skills and must demonstrate a high level of
professionalism as well as interpersonal oral and written communication
skills in English. The individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word,
Excel and various database programs and should understand e-mail and
Internet systems.
Responsibilities include reading and routing incoming mail, locating and
attaching files to correspondence to be answered by the manager, taking and
transcribing notes, composing routine correspondence regarding Covenant
Mission Connection, organizing and maintaining file systems and filing
correspondence and other records. Other duties include greeting scheduled
visitors, coordinating travel schedules and reservations, conducting
research and compiling statistical reports, arranging meetings (including
agenda preparation) and arranging facilities. A more complete list of
