North Park Golfer Places Second in Conference Play
PONTIAC, IL (April 29, 2003) - North Park University sophomore Matt Lindahl
finished second in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin men's
golf tournament last weekend at Pontiac Elks Golf Club, losing in a playoff
to Millikin University's Blake Swango.
Lindahl's score of 150 for two rounds (six-over-par) tied him with Swango
and Millikin's Justin Schwartz for low score in regulation play. Swango
defeated Lindahl and Schwartz in a playoff.
Teammate Joel Youngberg carded a 154 for sixth overall individually as
North Park placed third in the team scores with a four-player total of 625,
behind Millikin (620) and champion Illinois Wesleyan (616). Other scorers
for the Vikings included Carl Edgren, who had a 159 to tie for 25th, and
Seth Awes, whose score of 165 tied him for 28th overall.
