Annual Meeting Services to be Broadcast on Web
CHICAGO, IL (June 23, 2003) - Live web-based broadcasts will again be available
this year for the three evening worship services as part of the 118th
Annual Meeting of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Rosemont.
The broadcasts are part of the daily news coverage of the Annual Meeting
prepared by the Department of Communication, which produces stories and
photos throughout the day for each of the meeting days. The Annual Meeting
begins with the Wednesday evening worship service and concludes with the
final business session on Saturday.
"Staff will be writing and publishing online numerous stories and features
that cover events as they unfold," said Don Meyer, executive minister of
communications. Those desiring to follow events throughout the week are
invited to visit www.covchurch.org. News items will be posted in the
regular news section of the Covenant home page and will be picked up and
included inside the special Annual Meeting link displayed on the home page.
"Tuning into the live broadcasts is a fairly simple procedure," said Meyer.
"Go to the Covenant home page on the website, select the Annual Meeting
icon and look for the link to the live broadcasts. Just follow the
instructions." It is important to have the video viewing software preloaded
on one's computer, Meyer advised. Downloading that software requires time,
and if an individual waits until service time, they will miss part of the
service while completing the download.
"There will be a link to the free viewing software provided by RealOne,"
Meyer said. The free software also is available by visiting www.real.com.
Broadcasts will begin at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings.
Copies of the three services will be posted on the website at a later time
for viewing.
