Chicago TV to Feature North Park Professor
CHICAGO, IL (June 24, 2003) - Warren Wade, professor of politics and government
at North Park University (NPU), will appear in an interview on the History
Channel today (June 24).
"Lightning," which will air locally (CDT) at 8 p.m., explores how man has
tried to control natural phenomena throughout history. The episode is part
of the History Channel's Nature Tech series, which examines nature's
deadliest forces.
During his interview, which took place last October, Wade talks about the
loss of his 20-year-old son, Scott Wade, who was struck by lightning while
officiating a youth soccer game in Park Ridge seven years ago. The special
will also talk about the early warning detection system that was installed
in Park Ridge and 18 other parks in the Chicagoland area in response to his
son's death.
