Covenanter Commits to University of North Carolina

CHAPEL HILL, NC (July 2, 2003) - Christie Clark of Redeemer Covenant Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, recently made an oral commitment to play women's volleyball at the University of North Carolina (UNC). She is the daughter of Redeemer pastor Bill Clark.

Clark, a middle hitter, has played on national volleyball club and state high-school championship teams during the past year. She is a three-time state champ member for Cascia Hall Preparatory School and is considered one of the top returning seniors in the state of Oklahoma.

UNC made its first-ever Sweet 16 appearance as a program, beating Winthrop University and South Carolina in the NCAA Division I playoffs before losing to the University of Hawaii. Coach Joe Sagula's team was 32-4 overall and was the regular season champion of the Atlantic Coast Conference, posting the best winning percentage in school history.
