Covenanter Signs Pro Baseball Contract
GRAND FORKS, ND (August 11, 2003) - Aaron Marsden of Hope Evangelical Covenant
Church recently signed a professional baseball contract with the Colorado
Rockies
and has had a strong start in the minor leagues during the past eight
weeks.
Since being drafted in the third round of the June major league baseball
free agent draft by the Rockies, Marsden has made a big impression at the
minor league level. He has won four of his first five decisions for the

Washington. Thus far, Marsden has pitched 35 innings, allowing just three
earned runs (an earned run average of 0.77) while striking out 26 batters
during eight games.
Marsden was Big 12 Pitcher of the Year after posting a 9-3 record for the
University of Nebraska's baseball team this spring. The junior two-time All
Big 12 player helped the Cornhuskers to the NCAA Division I playoffs.
Marsden also was named as a Verizon First Team Academic All-America by the
College Sports Information Directors of America. He had a 3.95 grade point
average (on a 4.0 scale) in business administration at the University of
Nebraska.
