Newsletters Highlight Youth Accomplishments
IRON RIVER, MI (September 16, 2003) - North Park University (NPU) student and
Covenant Point Bible Camp summer staff member Nick Bruckner was clocked
in a winning time of 2 hours, 24.49 minutes during a Covenant Point
triathlon that raised $8,000 for the camp facility and program improvements.
Bruckner, who attends North Park Covenant Church in Chicago, was one of
14 individuals representing teams competing in the August 10 event.
Individual
participants were asked to raise $500 and teams of three were asked to
raise $1,500. In an interesting family twist, a trio of cousins (see
accompanying photo) - Lisa, Heidi, and Alli Hjelm - swam for three
different teams during the triathlon.
The triathlon was one of numerous events mentioned in the more than 250
