Services Scheduled for Dorothy Pearson
BATAVIA, IL (October 21, 2003) - A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m.
Thursday at The Holmstad for Dorothy Pearson, wife of retired ordained
Covenant pastor E. Lincoln Pearson, who died Monday morning.
The 81-year-old Pearson had been living at The Holmstad with her
husband. She had been in failing health.
A graduate of North Park Junior College, Dorothy (Carlson) Pearson
helped her husband as he served as a pastor for a variety of churches in
the 1940s and 1950s. E. Lincoln Pearson later became a teacher in
Rockford, Illinois, and served in ministry at two Covenant
congregations. They were married on November 24, 1945, when Rev. Pearson
was serving at a Covenant church in Manchester, New Hampshire.
In addition to her husband, Pearson is survived by their four children:
Melody, Jocelyn, Mark, and Joel. Mark is pastor of Christchurch
Evangelical Covenant in Portland, Maine. Joel is manager of Internet
Services for the Evangelical Covenant Church's Department of
Communication. His wife Adria was pastoral intern at Edgebrook Covenant
Church in Chicago.
