Carthage Overcomes Vikings in Final Game
KENOSHA, WI (November 15, 2003) - Despite 180 yards passing by quarterback Mike
Haehn, North Park University (NPU) lost its final game of the season on
Saturday, a 21-3 decision to Carthage College.
Haehn completed 16 of 33 passes overall. Nine of his tosses went to wide
receiver Jon Harris, who totaled 100 yards of reception yardage. Harris had
three catches for 27 yards and Haehn scrambled 17 yards on North Park's
lone scoring drive, which ended with
Christian Thomsen kicking a 30-yard field goal early in the second quarter.
Unfortunately, three interceptions by Carthage and a goal-line stand helped
thwart a North Park comeback after Carthage mounted a 14-0 first period
lead.
Freshman defensive back Harold Robinson intercepted a pass and led the
visiting Vikings with seven solo tackles and three assists. North Park
ended its season 2-8 overall, 0-7 in the College Conference of Illinois and
Wisconsin (CCIW).
Dante Washington had 259 yards and two touchdowns for Carthage, which
finished its season 3-7 overall, 1-6 in the CCIW.
