on December 15 before taking time off for Christmas vacation.
In the men's game, Javier Sanchez had 15 points and nine rebounds but
Steve Waterkotte's two foul shots with 21 seconds left helped Webster
edge the Vikings, who are now 4-2 overall. North Park's men travel to
Lake Forest for a 7 p.m. non-league game Tuesday at Lake Forest College.
Sanchez scored seven of his points in the opening 4:21 of the second
half as North Park quickly narrowed its 38-31 half-time deficit. Brett
Mathisen's tip-in basket gave coach Rees Johnson's team its first lead,
47-46, with 11:23 remaining and the game was tight from then on until
Waterkotte's game winning points. Lamar Townsend's 3-point field goal
try was long in the final seconds as the Vikings had a two game winning
streak snapped.
