CHICAGO, IL (February 5, 2004) - North Park University women's soccer player
Katie Rose of Mat-Su Covenant Church in Wasilla, Alaska, was named to
the College Conference
of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) All-Academic team for the fall sports
season.
Rose, a senior majoring in Advertising, has posted a 3.47 grade-point

eighth highest women's soccer scoring total in school history. She was a
captain for this year's team and earned the team's Leadership Award,
said coach Erin Leinweber.
"Katie exemplifies a complete student athlete," said Leinweber in
nominating Rose for the honor. "She not only excelled on the soccer
field, but in the classroom and the community. I am amazed with her
activity level in other school organizations during her seasons."
The vice president of North Park's Student Association, Rose has
participated in college chapel and choir while serving as a student
development assistant and participating in the school's Fellowship of
Christian Athletes huddle. Rose is from Palmer, Alaska, having
attended Colony High School. Her brother, Jamie, was a starter for the
North Park men's soccer team.
North Park also named sophomore linebacker Jonathan Schwan of Crystal
