Applicants Sought for NPU Athletics Position
CHICAGO, IL (July 15, 2004) - North Park University is seeking applicants for
a position as athletic recruitment coordinator in the Department of
Admission.
This position seeks to strengthen the development of the prospect pool
of CCIW-viable student athletes and manages the institutional
relationship with prospective student athletes from the prospect stage
through matriculation.
Job requirements include developing an annual marketing plan for
identifying student athlete prospects, working with both the athletic
department and financial aid office, developing and implementing a
process for determining viability of students who indicate varsity or
intercollegiate sports as an area of interest and communicating that
information to respective coaches, establishing building and maintaining
relationships with assigned prospective students by telephone, email and
other written correspondence, supporting counselors assigned primary
responsibility for recruitment of individual student athletes,
conducting campus interviews of student athletes as scheduled by the
visit coordinators and meeting assigned numeric recruiting goals.
Qualifications include a personal commitment to and the ability to
effectively articulate North Park's mission and philosophy of Christian
higher education; excellent interpersonal, oral and written skills; the
ability to work independently and work non-traditional hours, including
evenings and weekends; and the ability to prioritize and respond
effectively to multiple demands.
A bachelor's degree is required (master's degree is preferred) as is
three to five years of admissions work experience.
