Memorial Service Thursday for Walter Novak
KENT, WA (August 10, 2004) - A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m.
Thursday at Kent Covenant Church for Walter "Walt" Novak, the father of
North Pacific Conference Supt. Mark Novak.
Kent Covenant pastor Keith Carpenter and North Pacific Conference
Associate Supt. Don Robinson will co-officiate at Thursday's service. A
reception will follow in the church's Carlson Center. Novak, 86, died
last Saturday at Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle following a cancer
diagnosis earlier in the summer.
A longtime Covenanter, Walt was most recently a member of Kent Covenant
Church, along with his wife, Bernice. They would have celebrated their
61st wedding anniversary
in November, according to North Pacific Conference administrator Krisann
Jarvis Foss.
In addition to Bernice, survivors include son Mark and two sisters,
Nancy and Joyce and their families. Memorial gifts may be directed to
Cascades Camp and Conference Center in care of the North Pacific
